Imagine our mile-long lakefront filled with colorful flying kites, amazing sand sculptures, beach music, strolling performers, kayaking, dancing, tents filled with children’s activities, arts vendors, and food. This is what we envision as the first event of this type is planned for Ohio’s northcoast.
This free, family-friendly, outdoor celebration will incorporate the arts with the elements of sand, water and wind to create an interactive event on Ohio’s longest natural beach. Activities include kite flying, kite making, sand castle building, scavenger hunts, kayaking, paddle boarding, sand art projects, live music, and food. A professional sand sculptor will be on the beach building a massive sculpture out of sand, while nonstop beach music entertains. Spirit of America will oversee water related activities, including water rescue demos, boat races and paddle boards and kayak use.
The event is presented by the City of Mentor and Headlands Beach State Park.
